Jordan's Character

Little James

Credits: 30 Episodes (2019-2024)

The character of Little James was originally written as an able-bodied character. However, after casting Jordan in the role, creator Dallas Jenkins had to pivot to acknowledge Jordan’s real life disability. As a result, Little James’ story was fleshed out and given a whole new layer. As one of Jesus’ apostles, how would he react to seeing strangers healed of their afflictions while he is left to bear the burden of his? The Chosen bravely dives into the difficult relationship between faith and healing as we watch Little James’ journey of self-acceptance unfold over the course of the series. This has easily been the most rewarding role of Jordan’s career - both professionally and personally. Like Little James, Jordan Walker Ross has unlocked a newfound appreciation for his disabilities and circumstances. He doesn’t view them as a liability or a weakness anymore and Jordan hopes that his role as Little James can help others see that same beauty within themselves.
